Record label AWOL released it’s first 12 inch in August 2017 via Lobster Theremin distribution. The first release was met with great support from artists such as Ryan Elliott, Answer Code Request and many more. AWOL sound has a renegade melodic, breakbeat style. Keeping within Lobster Theremin aesthetic the branding took an old school 90’s and LO-FI edge. The logotype has a stretched dense aesthetic. The graphic and ideology of the label is based around the theme of going AWOL so the graphics are wild, unpredictable and aggressive. Track names are co-ordinates of different places playing on the idea of military tracking, This concept was to generate more curiosity on the artist. I wanted to create a different graphic for each release based on the AWOL branding by twisting and distorting the logo to reflect the unpredictability and wildness of AWOL.
