Thank You For Dancing
Thank You For Dancing - An intimate club night launched by Geddes one of the founders from the legendary Mulletover in London. Inspired by a statement poster design (thank you for dancing) from the infamous Robert Johnson club in Frankfurt. The aim was simple to create a friendly, authentic, event for serious dancers, going back to the original vibe of London House and Techno parties which may have been lost in the current situation of the scene. I was asked to create a simple yet iconic identity that that would be flexible to rotate between different mediums. Because of the length of the name I decided to make a two part identity, initials and a logotype. I created an iconic graphic with the initials using a bold serif typeface and switching the Y upside down to represent a dancer. The logotype I joined the characters to create a classic fluid logotype with an * which also had the form of an abstract dancer. Although with subtle concepts, the branding rolled into the event artwork very simply with a fun fluid old school attitude.
